Thank you for the plaque. CQ WW DX CW – as with all contests, requires “BIC” (Butt in chair) if you want to maximize your score. Make sure you have all your radios and other controls easily accessible and a comfortable chair. In CW contests, practice is very helpful even if you are a seasoned OM. Practice daily decoding morse code by ear at least 20 minutes, use Morse Runner (WPX contest mode) for minimum 30 minutes daily, and always push your speed up so that it is a challenge to copy. My daily Morse Code practice is listening to books that have been converted to Morse Code and using Morse Runner. You will work more stations in shorter time if you can copy faster (without asking for repeat).
